Paint tool SAI *_*

18 Aug

When it comes to trying out new stuff, Sara is the wizz kid. Me? I’m old fashioned and rather stick with the stuff I know but lately I’ve been trying to change that. So when I first heard of SAI by our dearest friend Fumi, I decided, what the heck, let’s try it.

And what do you know, I fell in love with this thing. SAI is just awesome. Here’s a very light program that allows to draw you beautiful anti-aliased lines and offers you plenty of different colouring techs that quite honestly, I think are better than some super duper programs out there. Sure it sucks for image edition but you can’t have everything.

Wanna try it? Head over to Systemax’s homepage and download the trial version!

♥ SAI, we love you!!! ♥

Is the version you can download on systemax the one you see all the crazy good guys (like yourself ^_^) on youtube use? I’d love to know, I was hoping I could get it for my b-day if it is the one that clearly kicks Manga Studio EX. 4 in the rear, thanks :D!

Hi there! Hm, I’m a bit confused now because you mentioned Manga Studio…
Sai and Manga Studio are two very different programs so it depends on what you want to use Sai for. Are you concerned about inking? If so, Sai is definitely better than Manga Studio since you can not only work with vectors (if you chose to) and edit every line you do with precision but you also get to define the smoothness/speed of your lines to maximize the straightness of your inking ^^
Plus colouring is very fun on Sai. Hope this was useful and cheers!

    Hi Macau! Olá!
For us the only fault of Sai is the poor editing tools so other programs are needed to work with it. Do you usually colour digitally?
Please feel free to ask anything, we’ll be happy to help out, we love your project!

Olá! i’m kinda clumsy on the digital side. but your drawing inspired me to give sai a try :-). i’m experimenting a workflow that combines traditional and digital media in a way i feel comfortable with. I’m sure i’ll have a lot of questions. thanks so much for your kind words and offer to help, cheers!

We don’t think you’ll have any problem adapting quickly to the digital world especially since you have a goal in mind. We’re glad too, especially for not sounding like we are meddling!
