Didn’t we say we were going to go wild? Yes, that’s right, it’s time for…
Unlike what we announced, our first day at the event started in the 27th and not on the 28th (thanks Pig-san, what would be of us without you) >_< I guess after all this time we still get nervous and distracted…
Saturday the 27th started with both of us being late for our important date, fashionably late of course… so we wished!
This being our first time as pro artists at FIBDA, we were bound to mess up again.
First, the security didn’t want to let us in without paying for tickets. We would have, but it just didn’t sound… right. A phonecall later, Mário was rescuing us and we got our badges and goodie bags! Yep, we got these cute bags with the festival’s logo and inside was: catalog of the event, a pen, pencil, t-shirt…you get the idea…
Mário informed us in his eloquent ways that the reason why he wasn’t going to kill us, was because there were people even more late than us ^^” and someone passing some really boring ever lasting slide show at our auditorium. With little time to look around, we could only capture this image of the exhibit of the works sent for the Festival’s Contest ↓
In the meanwhile, the auditorium was emptied and filled once again with Kingpin rabid fans XD!
Okay, so they weren’t rabid, they were actually very nice! Everybody clapped when the presentations started, and were very attentive to Mário’s words. We remind you guys that we only worked on this project as colourists of some of the pages so, we were quiet as mice.
We can’t think of a better pic to show you the fabulous artist and friend behind CAOS art XD Here’s Filipe aka Tanuki-san, trying to make us loose our pose and laugh. He was successful on his mission. A little too much cuz frankly for a few moments we forgot we were in a public place…*giggle*
And of course, in the meanwhile, Mário was informing everybody about the upcoming “Super Pig Manga”… and us still giggling like kiddies. *sweatdrop* So much for professional looks.
Not an everlasting stance. The presentation was over soon enough and again, we were rushed to the autograph’s table where we sat with the other artists (we were about eight people, a very easy to spot team ^^) and it was madness! It got us sighing and longing for our dear anime events and just as stunned!
Drawings and autographs were flying left and right! And we still found the time to harass our team and make them sign our own copies genly given by MárioXD, Thanks Pig san! The characters people favored were Super Pig, his secretary >_<” and of course Boris from CAOS. Actually we got the chance of drawing Boris and Detective Franco XD! All in all Boris was verrryyy abused, the poor thing… Filipe just wouldn’t stop drawing him.
Of course we just couldn’t help but show Boris suffering after so much fan-service. He was quite popular among men and women and apparently water themes were in fashion *cough* There, there Boris, we feel for you ♥
As you can imagine, before we knew it, night came… we were exhausted. But there was still a little time to take one final pic under KingPin’s shopping booth! The teaser we were in charge of colouring was above us of course ^_^! Hm? Why the censorship? No, we aren’t involved in any protection witness programs eheheh, we’re just…shy. But maybe one step closer to showing our mugs ^^
The lovely lady with us and Filipe is Fátima, Mário’s wife, a comic aficionado and helpful hand in either getting us tipsy or heightening our spirits with words instead of wine!
It was a wonderful day but with so many untold tales… we couldn’t go to the award presentation of the amateur comic works and dear Pokemew won a prize ;_; We so wanted to go, Pokemew, sorry! We also didn’t have any chances of taking a peek at the exhibitions, but we’ll take care of that next week on our next report! Please come for a visit if you can on November the 3rd, we’ll be there drawing a comic live for KingPin! Stay tuned! ★★★
